Guidelines for Happy Listing (and yes, it's a list)

  1. We will create a list every day with the number of items matching the number of the day. For example: Day 1's list will have 1 item, Day 366 's will have 366 items.
  2. Each day's list must be completed (but not posted) before midnight of our respective timezones.
  3. List topics are unrestricted and of our own design. List inspiration and appropriation is permitted. Items are not allowed to appear twice on the same list.
  4. Though we may not research our topic, we may ask for assistance. Research is allowed when providing context (links ect). Context should be brief and provided after the completed list.
  5. Once a fortnight we shall complete a mutual list, the topic of which shall be provided by you.

{Day 19: Lisa} A (Semi Non Sarcastic) List of Ways to Get More Organized

  1. Stop buying stuff you don’t have room for.
  2. Get rid of stuff you don’t have room for.
  3. Remove the foam stuffing from your couch cushions and replace with yarn or off season clothing.
  4. Scan all your papers into your computer and recycle the hard copies (unless you’re Helen Magnus).
  5. Adhere all your film prints on your walls with tape or sticky stuff (who needs wallpaper)
  6. Add shelves to any unused walls.
  7. Color code everything.
  8. Arrange things by shapes.
  9. Arrange things by size.
  10. Pretend there’s a miniature alien/abnormal/animal in *insert room of choice* clean it until the missing creature is located.
  11. Label everything.  Label makers, chalkboard paint and sharpies are fun.
  12. Stick things in boxes, bins, jars by different categories depending on which shelf/room they’re located on/in.
  13. Organize your books by dewey decimal number.
  14. Find Robin Dunne, give him a broom and ask him to direct a film in your house.
  15. Dump everything on the floor/counter/chair and then put it all back.
  16. Throw a party (your house will magically organize itself while you’re looking for that cake pan you haven’t used since last year).
  17. Convert your consciousness to binary.  Everything’s more organized on a computer.
  18. Have me come over and deprive me of all sources of entertainment.  I’ll be cleaning out your fridge in a day or two.
  19. Find yourself a huge project with an non-negotiable deadline like a thesis. Watch as you turn into a cleaning/organizing machine.

Bloody hell...this is very helpful (I’ll go find Robin in a second).
Just a quick question regarding No.17: how can I go all Matrix or Chimera on my brain? From a life-long research I know I’m going to need a fancy chair and either something blinky to put on my head or some sickeningly long needle-tube thingy to insert directly in my brain-stem. Is anything else required?
Oh and by the way you both are crazy, insane, and funny geniuses!

      I love you Stephi *g*.

Lots of faith in your geeksquad or geek person. Power outages are bad when your brain's in a computer. Other than that you should be all set :D
