{Day 25: Rebecca} 25 signs that you live with a crafter

1. There is wool in the bookcase
2. There are scraps of yarn or glass beads caught in the lint collector
3. You stab yourself with sewing needles that have been dropped on the carpet
4. You stab yourself with knitting needles that have been left on the lounge
5. Mugs (any and every mug) have been hijacked for storage purposes and mugs full of pens, scissors an crocheting hooks are now dotted throughout your house
6. Cotton thread on the floor
7. You walk in on them caressing wool
8. Indecipherable codes scribbled on the back of envelopes that turn up everywhere
9. All coffee jars and containers of any kind are pilfered from the recycling to be upcycled
10. You are screamed at if you touch the wrong scissors (even if they all look the same and are in fact yours)
11. No clothing is safe ever as even the oldest of fabrics can be repurposed
12. Speaking of clothing there are a stack of repairs on a chair somewhere which probably only need a button sewn back on but they haven’t been touched yet cause the crafter in question is too busy knitting a vintage baby shawl
13. You no longer notice when you’re stabbed in the ribs with knitting needles
14. You walk outside to find them sitting on the lawn taking photos of fabric
15. They hijack your ipad to store knitting patterns
16. You learn (quickly) that small unassuming items like pens, rulers, and scissors are prized possessions and should not be touched or moved. Ever.
17. They insist that they’re ‘moulding polymer clay’ not ‘playing with playdo
18. You can’t sit an watch a movie without your body being used as a ruler/airing rack/ wool dispenser
19. Every drawer is filled with scrapbook paper
20. Your toothbrush and other daily items have been stolen for craft use
21. Movies and TV shows are paused and zoomed in on to study knitwear
22. You are constantly finding little hole punch circles
23. You’ve gotten used to the weird looks you get when you sit next to the knitting freak in the cinema
24. You find squishy packages in the post with cutesy sheep logos
25. The hum and rattle of the sewing machine has become the soundtrack to your homelife
